Objectives
The general objective is to expand and consolidate the Survivorship NoE, establishing specialized working groups covering critical aspects of survivorship care across all ages and focusing on their implementation while guaranteeing the involvement of all relevant stakeholders.
Specific Objectives:
- To develop and implement an integrative care programme for cancer survivors of all ages focusing on health determinants, lifestyle and environmental medicine approaches including the psychosocial perspective towards the personalised prevention and management of mid- and long-term adverse effects.
- To train healthcare professionals and educate patients and caregivers for the effective implementation of the integrative care programme for cancer survivors.
- To ensure comprehensive and coordinated care of cancer survivors across healthcare systems throughout life after disease.
- To establish synergies with other Regional, National and European initiatives, networks and organizations.
- To guarantee the sustainability of the established NoEs as the European referent in survivorship.
This Work Package (WP) proposes the creation of three distinct Working Groups (WGs), each focused on a critical aspect of survivorship: health determinants (e.g. cancer treatment) (WG1), lifestyle and environmental medicine approaches (WG2) and the inclusion of the psychosocial perspective (WG3). Each group is comprised of cancer survivorship specialists, with expertise spanning both paediatric and adult sectors. The primary duty of the members across these WGs is to address both the specific and overarching issues pertinent to cancer survivorship, ensuring comprehensive coverage and integration of care, research, and policy efforts.
